Job Title : Engineer- Development, Costing & Import Planning (Area: Electrical & Stamping)

Division/ Department : Purchasing (Development, Costing & Import Planning)

Reporting Supervisor : Section In-charge 

Minimum Qualifications : Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering

Preferred/Desired qualification : B.E./B. Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engg.

Specific experience : 2–3 years in Development & Costing of Components – Stamping, Electricals, Rubber & Proprietary etc category, including the Import planning activities.

Exposure to ERP Software working (Purchase & Inventory Module),

Good knowledge of MS Excel & PowerPoint. 

Overall experience : Maximum of 3 years. 

Job Purpose

The role exists to develop and validate Electrical, Electronic, Stamping, Rubber & Proprietary components while ensuring manufacturability, process capability, and supplier evaluation & readiness after development phase to Mass Production. It supports end-to-end component development through technical review, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and supplier.

Key Responsibility

• Understanding and developing Stamping, Electrical, Electronic, Rubber & Proprietary components with Suppliers.

• Reviewing engineering drawings and Standards to ensure manufacturing feasibility and process compatibility for the new development of parts.

• Preparing micro-level project plans for component development and monitoring progress with suppliers.

• Validating manufacturing processes for Electrical, Electronic, Stamping, Rubber & Proprietary components with Suppliers.

• Preparing and reviewing technical documents such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, and PPAP documentation. 

• Managing procurement activities for prototype and pilot lot of components.

• Maintaining accurate documentation, development records, and MIS for tracking orders and progress report to Higher management.

• Conducting supplier Systems & Quality audits, capability assessments, and technical evaluations. 

• Identifying and implementing cost‑reduction opportunities through value engineering, localization, and alternate sourcing. Kaizen Implementation.

• Coordinating with design, quality, production, and procurement teams to resolve design issues, deviations, and manufacturability challenges.

• Preparing technical evaluation reports, feasibility studies, and comparison analyses for new components or design changes. Understanding of the Raw Materials used in Component manufacturing.

• Ensuring timely communication and coordination with cross‑functional teams for project updates, risks, and issue closures. 

• Supporting change management activities including ECN (Engineering Change Notes) and drawing revisions.

• Ensuring inventory control for prototype parts and managing sample flow between supplier, internal teams, and customer.

• Understanding & knowledge of the model cost preparation for the new development model (Bill of Material Cost working).

• Good coordination with team members,
